World ambassadors of Polish electronics in JAZBAR Muchowiec! Skalpel has been combining native jazz traditions with the achievements of modern technology for years. In recent years, the band has toured with a big band, performing studio compositions in arrangements for a 17-person orchestra. During the concert at JAZBAR Muchowiec, we will certainly hear inspirations from the Polish jazz tradition and the fascinating possibilities of electronics. Skalpel will present a unique audiovisual set, combining music with modern art. The band's performance takes place as part of preparations for Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice 2021. JAZBAR Muchowiec will host the opening concert of this year's festival. After Skalpel's concert, an afterparty with DJ Kicó and his wide selection of funk, soul and jazz.

For years, Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło combined inspiration from the local jazz tradition with a fascination with the possibilities of new electronics. Their recordings interested the cult label Ninja Tune, for which the duo from Wrocław recorded two well-received albums - "Skalpel" and "Konfusion". The releases resulted in a nomination for the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Award, excellent reviews and concerts around the world. The third album "Transit" marked a departure from sample-based music towards compositions created with the help of virtual instruments.
