music is a combination of tradition and modernity. To create their own songs, they mainly use Polish jazz from the 60s and 70s, giving it a completely new sound. Within our pop culture in the last thirty years, there have not been many more important phenomena than the Scalpel. Thanks to the combination of original explorations of the Polish jazz archive and the possibilities of new electronics, Marcin Cichy and Igor Pudło have built a brand that is recognizable at every latitude. The albums "Skalpel" and "Konfusion" were released by the legendary Ninja Tune label from London, gaining applause from critics around the world - from Pitchfork to Gilles Peterson. The duo is also highly respected in Poland. In 2006, he was awarded the Polityka Passport Award, performed at the most popular festivals and in the largest concert halls, always receiving hyperenthusiastic reviews.
