                                          TWENTY YOUNG

Mayday is not the only event in our country that evokes such extreme emotions.

How much good the
"mother of all raves" brings?

This year's edition, in my opinion the best I've been to, silenced all those who claimed that progress at Mayday was a media fantasy, that the event lacked the atmosphere of previous years. Everything, from organization to technical details, including music, contributed to such a bold thesis.
The year 2011 is a special date in the history of Mayday - this year it celebrates its
20th anniversary. It usually celebrated its anniversary at the end of April in Dortmund - after what happened in Westfallenhallen, I wondered how much the Polish edition would differ from it. Let's face it - the German Mayday is a class by itself, with one of the most modern venues for this type of event, with the best indoor sound system in Europe and a composition that we will not see in Poland for a long time. And so it happened - not only did the events in Spodek equal those in April, but also surpassed them in several aspects. First things first.

Both Spodek and Katowice are an inseparable couple that is the strength of Mayday for various reasons. Katowice, with its industrial character, is the best possible choice - no other Polish city reflects the specificity of Techno music so much. It's grey, sad, with the post-industrial atmosphere of the whole city - especially on November 10, associations with Detroit are most appropriate.

Saucer, a legendary place with its shape resembling a flying object, is a hall that impresses every artist playing here. It is worth noting that this year's edition took place in Spodek, renovated from the inside, which shines with a new splendour.
The leitmotif, as in Germany, turned out to be the slogan "Twenty Young", referring to the twentieth anniversary of Mayday. In connection with the above, there have been several changes, mainly in the artistic sphere - this year, trance artists have been completely abandoned, inviting characters always associated with Mayday to Spodek.
Every year, we are attacked by advertising tricks, talking about the uniqueness of the upcoming edition - for the first time, no announcement regarding changes has passed the truth, putting Polski Mayday in the extraleague of Techno events in Europe.
The premature superlatives were mainly reflected in its visual aspects - the main stage is a breakthrough when it comes to Poland, I have not seen such a spectacular stage in our country before. The amount of lights, screens, lasers, visualizations, diodes and God knows what else, he knocked me off my feet - everything perfectly coordinated, there was no question of the surplus of form over content.

It would be a sin not to mention the sound system - perfect sound, in which the bass turned out to be a diamond, especially on the Liebing and Kanzler sets, hitting the dance floor. It blew west. The case was similar on the other two stages, with excellent sound and interesting technological solutions - at times I wondered if I was really on the Polish edition of Mayday.
This year's edition proved that Mayday is doing well and if it intends to continue to develop, we will witness one of the best Techno parties in Europe.

This year, we invited our good friend Mrs. Pavvlosky to cooperate in creating the visualization
and a team from Visual Group Hubert Kaszycki x Patryk Zimończyk.
