POŚWIATOWSKA:
BLISKOŚĆ
ŁÓDŹ 2026

"THERE ARE NIGHTS, MY FRIEND, WHEN THE WORLD ENDS."
"OUR HEARTS TOGETHER ARE
SUICIDE."
"THE TREES LOOK AS IF THEY WERE REJOICING
IN THEIR OWN DEATH."
"YOU ALONE LISTENED TO MY WORDS. "
In February 2026, the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź hosted the premiere of the immersive music-literary concert Poświatowska: Bliskość.” (Poświatowska: Intimacy)
Here, the intimate poetry of HALINA POŚWIATOWSKA meets contemporary sound and technology.

Directed and written by ADAM KUPAJ, the script is based on the poet’s works and her autobiographical prose Opowieść dla przyjaciela (Story for a Friend).
TVING was invited by the director to create animations that, together with Halina Poświatowska portrayed by actress WERONIKA HUMAJ, would shape the narrative of the performance. The visuals also serve as symbolic representations of love, intimacy, loss, and the fragility of life — from birth to death, including the final five minutes of the brain’s activity.
HALINA POŚWIATOWSKA  (1935–1967)
was one of the most distinctive voices of 20th-century Polish poetry. Living with a severe heart condition, she wrote with an acute awareness of love, desire, fragility, and the nearness of death. Her work is both sensual and philosophical — marked by emotional intensity, radical tenderness, and a fearless exploration of intimacy.

The event marked the inauguration of the activities of the INSPIRI Foundation, which organized the project. The event was funded by the National Recovery Plan of the Republic of Poland and by the European Union under the NextGenerationEU program
