This is a leading music event in Poland, presenting every year the most interesting debutants and the greatest classics of modern electronics, as well as jazz, rock and hip-hop artists. Among the invited guests there are also representatives of contemporary and avant-garde music.
The history of Nowa Muzyka began in 2006 in Katowice, when a group of friends associated with the Hipnoza club decided to organize their own festival. DJ Krush, Swayzak and Cristian Vogel performed during the first edition of the event, organized at the time in the disused shaft of the Wilson mine.
The next two editions were held in Cieszyn. From 2009, the festival returned to Katowice permanently. First, these were the areas of the closed coal mine "Katowice", and in 2012-2013 Dolina Trzech Stawów.
Since 2014, the festival space has been the Katowice Culture Zone, which was established on the revitalized areas of KWK "Katowice" in the Bogucice district.

Thanks to the combination of futuristic sounds and post-industrial locations, the Festival quickly gained a loyal audience. From the very beginning, the organizers wanted to present what's most interesting in contemporary music bordering on jazz, electronics and dance rhythms, while proving that sounds practically completely absent from the domestic media can attract an increasing number of audiences from Poland and Europe to Katowice.
Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice has been closely following the careers of the biggest stars and the most interesting debutants for many years. It invites those artists who combine unusual, sometimes avant-garde ideas with the ability to reach thousands of audiences. It was here that Autechre, DJ Krush, Prefuse 73, Jamie Lidell, Amon Tobin, Flying Lotus, Battles, Bonobo, Fever Ray and many others performed for the first time in Poland.
Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice was the first to offer the audience the opportunity to play in post-industrial, mining locations.

 On the online platform you will watch live club events and unique remote concerts, recorded by exceptional artists from around the world. There will be a message from iconic places in Katowice, but also very distant from Silesia.

 Broadcasts and visualizations will be carried out live, using multimedia scenography and the latest lighting technologies. Concerts at NOSPR will be broadcast using VR 360° technology, enabling the transmission of a full panorama of the image.

TNMK.online is a dedicated, interactive festival platform. Between August 27 and August 30, 2020, we will watch live concerts and club events as well as unique "remote" concerts recorded by exceptional artists from around the world. Online broadcasts will include concerts and club events at NOSPR, Walcownia, Muzeum Śląskie and other places important for the history of Silesia and the festival. There will also be broadcasts from places very distant from Katowice, exclusively for Tauron Nowa Muzyka Katowice. Performances by non-EU artists will be broadcast from their homes. In addition to intriguing performances, TNMK.online also features exclusive artist interviews. The detailed program will be announced soon.
