                                          massive moments

The first MAYDAY event in Berlin was a precursor to the entire techno music scene - no other rave music was such a powerful engine and impulse generator. No other event has created such a reach and delighted entire generations so much. The first MAYDAY event in Poland brought the same results.
"The mother of all kinds of rave music" ignited euphoria for electronic music in Katowice. It was your enthusiasm, your energy and your idealism that made the MAYDAY event in Poland an important part of the history of the MAYDAY event and thus became a part of techno music.

Audio facts
For the third time in a row, POL-AUDIO took care of providing technical support for the sound system throughout the event. MAYDAY is two stages where the best DJs host for 16 hours. The sound system for the entire event was based on POL-AUDIO loudspeaker systems and an amplifier from the Italian POWERSOFT company.
At large events with mechanical music, it is particularly important to ensure a sufficiently high pressure in the low frequency band. This forced POL-AUDIO to use an extensive bass section. Choosing the right placement means long hours of planning and simulating the behavior of low frequencies with different settings.
In the case of the main stage, 40 pieces of TP 118 basses were used, arranged in an arc just in front of the stage at a length of about 45 m.
On the width of the stage, several pieces of "retracted" bass were placed to direct the low frequencies and "cut" them from the stage (cardio).
12 pieces of TH 118 - the latest production of POL-AUDIO - worked on the ice rink. Only two POWERSOFT K20 amplifiers were used as power supply. The columns were placed in three blocks of 4 in the middle and on the sides, symmetrically to the stage.

As a high-midrange section on the main stage, POL-AUDIO used a linearly aligned system from the SLA series. 24 pieces of SLA 115 CX arranged in four groups of 6 played towards the dance floor from four sides. Three-metre clusters of the LA 800 system were used as sound reinforcement for the stands.
There were 16 SLA 210 CX ND systems at the ice rink, 8 pieces per side.
As a monitor for the artists on the main stage, a set was used: 8 pieces of SLA 208M ND (4 per side) + 4 TP 118 (two per side). At the ice rink, 2 pieces of TP 118 were used per side, on which the SAT structure was placed.

System power (estimated):

main stage
Woofer section
approx. 30 kW (AES)
approx. 40 kW (AES)
High-midrange section
about 16kW (RMS)
about 38kW (RMS)
Listening system
about 7 kW (AES)
about 10 kW (AES)
In total, the POL-AUDIO company put up a sound system with a power of about
*160 kW (AES) at the Spodek Arena in Katowice.
*not counting front- and sidefills
